#RSD2018 Pre-Party w/ Jesse Kinch live

Join us for a special evening of live music as we throw a little Record Store Day pre-game party, featuring live music from Curb Recordsrecording artist Jesse Kinch!

Record Store Day 2018 at Darkside Records is of course April 21, where we celebrate everything we love about being an independent record store! The night before, come kick back and enjoy some live tunes from winner of ABC Television Network's singing competition show "Rising Star" Jesse Kinch!

Jesse's debut album "I'm Not Like Everybody Else" comes our April 13 on indie-exclusive vinyl (until June 1, 2018, when it will be released on all other platforms). To promote his album, he's on a tour of indie stores playing some tunes, meeting fans, and raising awareness for #RSD2018.

Then join us 9am Saturday when we'll have exclusive RSD titles, giveaways, live music, food, performers, beer, charity fundraising, and more. Lining up overnight or just want to do something fun the day before? This event is for you!

Jesse Kinch’s sound is an ode to the classic rock giants that came before him, but also artfully combines his diverse inspiration from artists across an array of genres.

It was this sound that wowed viewers, and the judges, when he won the first and only season of ABC's singing competition show, Rising Star.

An early exposure to opera artists Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brighton gave him a deep appreciation for the “pureness and beauty” of music. Eventually, he picked up an acoustic guitar and began performing at age 11, leading him to venues in New York City and a role playing the lead character in the off-Broadway musical The Story of Eddy Money.

His win on Rising Star at age 20 gave him the platform to continue his cross-generation brand of songwriting and performing. From soulful covers of classics like “I Put A Spell On You” to the more contemporary “Seven Nation Army”, Kinch was able to introduce old school rock to a young audience during his time on the show. Now, with his upcoming debut album on Curb Records, he infuses modern elements of rock into his songwriting and performance.

As always, We will open at 9am RSD is first come first serve, and we will post our menu of everything we will have in stock on 4/21 right here. Get all the latest news and event details by attending this event or going todarksiderecordsandgallery.com!
